Schwartz Media Strategies’ Yudi Fernandez Becomes Chair of ULI Southeast Florida’s Communications Committee

The Urban Land Institute, one of South Florida’s most prominent nonprofits committed to research, education and advocacy in support of sustainable real estate development and land use, has appointed Miami public relations executive Yudi Fernandez as Chair of its district Communications Committee. Fernandez is vice president of Schwartz Media Strategies, a statewide PR, marketing and digital media firm that counsels clients in the real estate, legal, municipal affairs, professional services, banking and hospitality sectors.

As committee chair, Fernandez will lead a team of business leaders and marketing professionals in bringing awareness to ULI’s programs and mission of educating the public and private sectors about the benefits of responsible land use in South Florida and the Caribbean. The committee will spearhead branding, public relations, marketing, digital media and community outreach efforts with the goal of raising awareness for the organization’s chief areas of focus: housing affordability, resiliency and mobility. In her role, Fernandez will serve on ULI’s district management committee led by recently appointed District Chair Greg West, President & Chief Development Officer of ZOM.

“We’ve been involved with ULI in various capacities over the past four years, promoting its annual statewide summits and building awareness around programs hosted in South Florida,” Fernandez said. “We’ve considered ULI and its leadership ‘partners’ for years, and this appointment is a continuation of our work to position ULI as a leading advocate for responsible land use and development.”

In her seven years at Schwartz Media Strategies, Fernandez has led communications campaigns on behalf of JLL (formerly Jones Lang LaSalle), Skanska USA, Aztec Group, Apollo Bank, CREW-Miami (Commercial Real Estate Women), Atton Hotels, Pipeline Workspaces, and more. The firm has been recognized by the South Florida Business Journal as one of the 10 largest communications firms in South Florida and recently earned a spot in the Daily Business Review’s ‘Hall of Fame’ after being ranked among the “Best PR Firms” in South Florida every year dating back to 2012.

Fernandez is a graduate of the University of Florida, and earned her MBA from Nova Southeastern University. In addition to her more than 10 years of journalism and communications experience, Fernandez has served as a facilitator in the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Miami program and as a past chair of Switchboard of Miami’s Women Leadership Council.
