Who’s driving South Florida’s commercial real estate rebound?

SASouth Florida’s red hot residential real estate market may be garnering the bulk of the world’s attention ($50 million dollar penthouses certainly do make for good reading!), but the region’s commercial market is enjoying a quiet rebound of its own.

With investment dollars coming off the sidelines, bank lending approaching pre-recession levels, and interest rates hovering near all-time lows, it’s high time for commercial real estate investors, developers, property owners and brokers.

smSo who’s fueling this CRE comeback? The South Florida Business Journal’s annual “Power Leaders” feature is out this week, offering a look at some of the key dealmakers who are fueling this CRE comeback.

The list includes leaders from a range of sectors – from Bilzin Sumberg real estate attorney Suzanne Amaducci-Adams and office market ace Tere Blanca, to commercial investment luminary Ezra Katz, JLL industrial pro Steve Medwin, and University of Miami Life Science & Technology Park leasing chief Bill Hunter.

SBESome of the brightest minds from the residential market also make an appearance on this year’s list, including dealmakers like Alicia Cervera-Lamadrid; affordable housing trailblazers Stephanie Berman of Carrfour Supportive Housing and Mitch Friedman of Pinnacle Housing Group; and Alan Ojeda, whose newest condo – The Bond – is quickly rising on Brickell Avenue.
