One year ago, in the depths of the misery of the stock market crash, credit crisis, and real estate bloodbath, commercial real estate firms were disappearing left and right. But one experienced professional, Tere Blanca, saw an opportunity – and opened up Blanca Commercial Real Estate to kick off an extremely-successful first year. Highlights include:
- In 2009, the firm was awarded 900,000 square-feet of landlord leasing assignments at two of Miami’s premier class-A office buildings, 1450 Brickell and One Park Square at Doral.
- The firm attracted 200,000 square-feet of exclusive tenant representation assignments.
- President/CEO Tere Blanca and Executive Vice President Danet Linares also closed South Florida’s largest new office lease of the year when law firm Bilzin Sumberg took 80,000 square-feet at 1450 Brickell. That deal was recognized as 2009’s “Office Lease Transaction of the Year” by NAIOP’s South Florida chapter.
And now, another triumph to cap off an epic first year: the addition of two seasoned professionals to the firm’s senior management team. Eexpanding its team of brokerage and advisory professionals, Blanca Commercial Real Estate has hired two highly-regarded and experienced industry executives: Hank Klein as vice chairman and David Valdez as executive vice president. Mr. Klein and Mr. Valdez bring a combined 50 years of experience to the firm.
