Thea’s Pizzeria & Cafe: a slice of heaven

I’ve always been a big proponent of pizza for breakfast. Despite its clear lack of nutrition, it always seems to do the trick. Well imagine a pizza that was meant for breakfast, loaded with bacon and eggs – sunny side up nonetheless. Now that’s a meal I’d get out of bed for.

This casual-chic pizzeria is located on the border of Wynwood just north of downtown Miami in the University of Miami Life Science & Technology Park, also known as the health district. From the second you walk in, you know this is this not your typical pizza joint.  Each table is decorated with hydrangeas, my favorite flower, and a long wooden bar lines the back wall that is overlooked by a beautifully unique mosaic of flowers.

Thinking of eating on the lighter side? Try the beet salad with gorgonzola and walnuts – full of antioxidants and flavor.  The menu also offers cheeseboards for the carnivore and vegetarian alike.

I suggest going with a few friends so you can share. After reading the pizza choices: ham & mushroom, spicy salami & mozzarella or artichoke, arugula & grana padano to name a few – you will not be able to just choose one.

Trust me, you’ll be back.
