With more than 20,000 people taking to the streets of downtown Miami this coming Saturday morning, anyone planning to be in the area should make alternate travel plans.
The offi cial course map for the 2011 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure was unveiled today and it looks like the event is going to cover a lot of ground throughout downtown Miami and Brickell.
The race begins in Bayfront Park at 8:30 am, heads north along Biscayne Blvd., winds through the central business district and then heads south on NW 2nd Ave. before turning onto Coral Way in front of Apollo Bank’s Brickell branch.
The track then heads north along Brickell Avenue before returning back to Bayfront Park.

The following roads will be closed Saturday morning:
6:00 am to 11:00 am: Biscayne Blvd. northbound (will be re-routed to southbound lanes)
8:15 am: The entire course will be closed to car traffic
8:30 am: Roads will reopen as walkers and racers pass by
